Some random notes about our renovation of a barn and cottage in the Dordogne.

Lucy on the sofa in the dark (no power)
choosing the floor for the barn....
Lots and lots of mud
Another gratuitous view of the roof
The builders have started the inside clearance - there were cow bits in here.
more funky machinery
last batch of tiles!
view from the pool
The canal tiles on the kitchen look great!
The builders have stripped the render from the walls. The breeze blocks are set back so that they can embed stones into the new render to make it look the same as the rest of the wall.
patio door into bedroom 3
bedroom 3 taking shape??
The roof is half on the kitchen
view from the new kitchen doorway
The new kitchen doorway.
The builders have removed the lowest beams in the salon. They have also created the new kitchen patio doorway - which looks rather impressive.
This is the door into the dining room, it has been raised also. You can see our neighbours house.
Another view of the columbage in the salon.
This is the view from the main entrance to the barn. The columbage is being renovated and will be kept. The lower beams will be taken out soon.
The main doorway to the house - this has also been raised.
The builders have raised the height of all of the doors. They have left the option for us to expose the stones or to render completely. We need to decide on the final finish of the outside walls.
It is definitely a building site.
The builders have re-routed the power to the little house to the barn. No power, but at least we have water!
