New lights on the front of the white house. Anthony has planted a row of lavendar along the front to make it look a little less boxy. We bought an irrigation system and timers so that we can have them watered automatically.
Another pic of the outside lights.

Eric (the security system man) has fitted the outside lights on the barn and little house. They are made by the father in law of one of his employees. They look great.
The area for the wild flower meadow has been rotivated. Anthony has sown about 7 kilos of seed. We should see a lot of poppies this summer, with the other flowers coming through in later years.

These are the bare-root hedgerow plants - 350 of them, a mix of traditional plants
Anthony had got this far with the formal garden outside the kitchen patio. We needed to go to get the rest of the herb garden plants and some more plants to fill it out.

It's been a busy weekend. Anthony the gardener is in France and is putting a load ofplants in. There has been quite a bit of progress on the pool as well. The concrete base for the tiles has been finished and they have put a plastic cover over the pool so that they could render the bottom in the dry. The weather has been terrible.

The new security system in place - it phones us up if there is a problem...

Kevin has already set it off twice.

We were planning on turfing this area, but the pool has quite a steep side... need to think about what to do with this area.
Beverley got us a load of gardening equipment ready for next week when Anthony is down.
The radiators have been delivered for the white house. Need to get them installed.
This area of land is being rotivated (if I can find someone to do it) before next week, when Anthony (our gardener) is down. He will be planting a wild flower meadow here.
View from the other side of the pool. We chose the colour of the liner this weekend.

Bruno has put the gravel down around the back of the house. It's looking really smart, we will put down paving slabs to walk on.
Another view of the pool - it should be finished in time for Easter.

Pool surrounds almost finished, they are putting the concrete base for the tiles down today.

The farmhouse is looking very new. Anthony will be removing the damn budlia (sp.) and planting French lavendar in the gravel along the front of the house to give it some colour and break up the lines. I need to figure out what to do with the gate to the property.

Brunos van. He is here with his little digger doing some landscaping around the pool.

Cows in the field opposite.

View from the kitchen patio towards the pool. We are having this area gravelled with pea shingle. Anthony is going to plant rosemary bushes along the side of the barn. He is also planting a copper beach hedge on the two far sides of the pool.

We are going to get turf laid around the pool area for sitting on.

View from the kitchen patio. We are having the patios tiled with the left over Moroccan tiles from inside. Anthony (our gardener) is going down in March to do a tonne of planting. There will be French Lavendar along this patio, a herb garden behind that and loads of other stuff.

The shutters have had another coat of varnish.

I've finally got the web site together for rentals!

http://www.bergeracbarn.com

Comments appreciated. There is still quite a bit of work to do on it yet!

Master bedroom

Still need a few more books for the bookshelves. We have hundreds more that need to go down to France. The track lights are fantastic.
The electrician has been back and put in the track lights and the uplighters into the main room. The ceiling now has much more volume.

The kitchen worktop that had warped is now fine. We put a load of boxes of tiles on it and left them for a month. Chimney now finished on Rayburn.

I took the photos for our web site last week. It is looking great!

A lot has been going on in February. The painter has put another coat of varnish on the shutters and doors and generally finished things off.
Bruno has flowed the concrete into the walls of the pool. He needs to back fill with stone to ensure it remains stable.

The gravel has arrived for the back fill around the pool.
The water softener is now in place and working - still no idea why we have it. I am sure that I said no to the option. Never mind. It's there now. Need to figure out how to feed it.
The master bathroom shower now has a mixer tap.
